Terms - Hire Terms 

 It is understood and agreed by the Hirer that all hired items are hired subject to the following conditions:                       

The Hirer will:

  1. Inspect hired items thoroughly and highlight any defects found.
  2. Ensure hired items are suitable for purpose
  3. All hired items are offered with neither warranty nor guarantee as to suitability for any purpose
  4. No responsibility is accepted by Pantaloons for loss or damages arising from use of hired items, howsoever such loss or damage may occur.
  5. A non-negotiable deposit is required for each hired item, to cover risk against non-recovery of, or damage to, the hired item.
  6. Default hire period is two nights, including the hire date.
  7. Late returned items will be charged for a further hire period immediately. Subsequently unreturned items will be charged at replacement cost. In each case monies will be recovered from the deposit held by Pantaloons.
  8. Items not returned in the same condition as at hire will be charged at replacement cost. Funds will be recovered from the deposit held by Pantaloons.
  9. Unreturned items will be charged at replacement cost. Funds will be recovered from the deposit held by Pantaloons.
  10. Hire and booking charges are non-refundable even if the hired items do not leave the premises or are returned unused.
  11. Where a reservation fee has been paid against an item, said fee will be deducted from the hire charge only for the same item, and only when the hire booking is completed at or before close of business on the working day following receipt of the reservation fee.
  12. Pantaloons suggests that hirers have adequate insurance in place for the hired goods, including insurance against third party risks.
  13. Hired items should not be cleaned prior to return. However, if significant soiling has occurred during the hire, contact Pantaloons as soon as possible to identify whether any action should be taken prior to returning the hired item.
  14. If, in Pantaloons opinion, specialist cleaning should be required as a result of a hire, Pantaloons reserves the right to charge for such cleaning. Funds will be recovered from the deposit held by Pantaloons.
  15. Hire goods are not available for sale, even if previously retail priced.
  16. All hired items remain the property of Pantaloons. Title at no time passes to the hirer, even if cost of hire/extended hire/damages/cleaning/loss exceeds the risk valued in the deposit amount.
  17. The Hirer is responsible for the safe keeping of the hired items while those items are not on Pantaloons' premises.
  18. The Hirer agrees to take all relevant safety/preventative measures appropriate to safety/fire legislation in place at the time of the hire to ensure safe use, carriage and storage of the hired items.
  19. If the Hirer posts the item back then it is they should send it back recoreded as until we have received it back it is still classed as the Hirers responsibility. If it goes missing in the post Pantaloons will charge the Hirer for the loss.


Any agreed with Pantaloons deviation from these conditions of hire must be agreed prior to completion of the Hire Agreement and be noted on the Hire Agreement as Special Remarks.

Customer details included on the Hire Agreement will be retained for the use of Pantaloons only, and will never be passed to third parties (other than agents working directly on Pantaloons service, e.g. couriers delivering on behalf of Pantaloons).
